Join CSI East Bay-Oakland for our September chapter meeting, featuring a presentation titled “Augmented Reality (AR) for Design and Construction – A Next Generation Solution”, with Dave Alpert, FAIA, CEO & Co-founder, and Michael Hoppe, Creative Director, both of Geopogo.
PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION: Please join us for a discussion and demo of AR, the fresh new technology that finally allows architects and builders to easily communicate effectively with each other and with clients in 3D. Dave Alpert, FAIA, and Michael Hoppe of Geopogo are architects who have led their team of computer engineers and 3D artists to create an AR solution based on their years in architecture practice.
Why is a new technology solution needed in the architecture profession and the construction industry? How is AR dramatically different than VR (virtual reality)? How has this technology already been used to win new work? How can AR be used throughout design and construction to speed approvals, minimize changes, and lower costs? What is the client perspective on AR? What are your options to get started? Dave and Michael have discussed these questions with hundreds of architects, builders, and clients.
